Hi, I’m Kristen Lee—a UX designer based in San Francisco, originally from Los Angeles.
My journey into UX design began in an unexpected place: the field of mental health. I earned a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and spent time working in both research and clinical settings, including as a research assistant in multiple psych labs and as a client assistant at a mental health treatment center. These experiences shaped the foundation of my professional skill set which includes, attention to detail, strong organization, effective collaboration, and adaptability. They also helped me develop empathy, a critical lens, and a passion for understanding and supporting people, skills I now apply every day in my design work.
Although I was initially on a different career path, I’ve always had a creative side. From doing ceramics in high school to side projects at home, I’ve found joy in artistic expression. When I discovered UX/UI design, it felt like the perfect intersection of my analytical and creative strengths. Looking ahead, I’m eager to continue growing as a designer—especially within the research side of UX. I'm also still deeply passionate about mental health and social impact, and I dream of contributing to meaningful projects that expand access to care, support underserved communities, and make a real difference through thoughtful, inclusive design.
